Natural fossil amber pendant with two insects: a primitive fly and a mosquito. Set in 950 silver with a stainless steel chain.
Handcrafted pendant made of natural amber with a double authentic fossil inclusion, an exceptional piece that preserves two prehistoric insects trapped in fossil resin millions of years ago.
These types of multiple inclusions are rare and highly valued in both jewelry and collectibles. It was handcrafted and designed in our workshop in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Inside the amber, the following are clearly distinguishable:

Amber is a resin exuded by the pores of a tree called 'Guapinol' in Simojovel, Chiapas.
When a tree breaks one of its branches, or receives a wound caused by an insect or animal, it exudes resin to cover that wound and prevent the spread of fungi and pathogens.
Because the resin is sticky, insects or pieces of branches can become trapped. When exposed to sunlight, the resin hardens and solidifies in a fossilization process that can take thousands to millions of years.
Symbolically, amber represents protection against negative energies, transformation, purification, resilience, vitality, creativity, etc.
