Incredible fossilized Okapi molar, set in alpaca, with a hand-braided cowhide necklace.
The okapi is a peculiar animal whose appearance resembles a cross between a zebra and a giraffe, its shape resembling that of the modern horse, but a little smaller.
It lives in the dense forest of northern Democratic Republic of the Congo today, and was unknown to the West until 1890.
This tooth is petrified after a geological process lasting millions of years. It was found during an excavation in Jalisco, Mexico. The okapi is considered a living fossil due to its resemblance to the earliest Miocene giraffes...
Interesting facts that make this tooth an exclusive and impressive necklace.
