Stalacites are long spikes that hang from the ceilings of caves.
Its formation is very interesting: rainwater filters through the ground, penetrating the cracks in some rocks such as limestone. When it filters through and reaches the cave, it is filled with various dissolved minerals, depositing layers of these minerals on the ceiling.
Drops of water continue to fall and over the years an inverted cone or point forms; these are the stalactites.
A stalactite can take thousands of years to form. When cut, it reveals the beauty of the crystal inside.
This beautiful Uruguayan stalactite slab is very rare, as amethyst stalactites are rarely created.
The silver used is 950, it is purer than sterling silver which is 925.
